Q3:What are the Tracking Dimensions we have in the system?

Tracking dimensions refer to the method by which the goods are being tracked within a manufacturing plant. Each product in the product master has to be mapped with a tracking dimension, this enables us to understand the movement of the goods. The below are the tracking dimensions available in system

  1. Group: Identifies a specific batch of products, useful for quality control and traceability

  2. Serial: A unique identification for each item, commonly used in high-value or regulated products.

Q4:Can we update the tracking dimensions of an existing product?

No, the tracking dimensions are a fixed set of values which has impact over the entire WMS system. Hence, the tracking dimensions cannot be updated for a product

Q5:What are the Quality Dimensions we have in the system?

The quality dimensions of a product refers to the method by which the product undergoes quality check. The quality dimension is unique for each product based on their characteristics. Every product which is received in plant will undergo quality checks

  1. Sample: A set of random samples will undergo quality check

  2. NA: This defines that the quality check is not required (not applicable)

  3. Manually approved: This defines that the quality check will be manually approved

  4. Individual: This defines that all the products in the goods will undergo quality check

Q6. Can we update the Quality dimensions of an existing product?

Yes, the quality dimensions for a product can be updated. Once updated, the method for conducting quality checks on the product will also change, and all goods received after the update will be subject to QC based on the revised dimensions

Q7:I am looking for a Product and it is not found in the system. To whom should I reach out for the Product code creation?

If the required product is not available in the system, please raise a product code creation request to MDM team via freshdesk portal

Q8: I am looking for a product with a specific UOM but the same product is available in a different UOM. What should I do?

In such cases, please raise a product code creation request to the MDM team with the required UOM details, the MDM team will validate and create the products

Q9: I want to update the dimensions of an existing product. What should I do?

Once the product is created, we cannot edit the details of it because it might affect the existing transactions. In this case, it is better to create a new product with required dimensions

Q10: How should I search for products in the UI screen?

You can search the products using the product name, product dimensions and the product codes
